ENVIRONMENTAL POLICY STATEMENT
As a small to medium sized gas heating contractor established in West Yorkshire in 1999, we at IDM acknowledge that our business activities affect the environment. We will set objectives and targets to reduce negative impacts and continually improve our environmental performance to support global targets in emissions reduction in greenhouse gases.
We have a corporate responsibility to support environmental protection and prevent pollution in balance with our activities and growth within the UK Economy. We are committed to improving our environmental performance and will likewise encourage our stakeholders to commit in this effort. To achieve our environmental goals, we will aim to:
1 develop our expertise in renewable energy to increasingly deliver products and services that reduce carbon emissions and tackle climate change;
2 help customers use energy efficiently through advice and support using their systems;
3 use energy, water and materials efficiently;
4 reduce waste and maximise recycling;
5 continually reduce vehicle emissions and fuel consumption from our business travel;
6 prevent pollution and comply with applicable legal and other requirements;
7 provide a framework to set and review our objectives and targets;
8 ensure that our Environmental Policy is documented, implemented and maintained;
9 communicate our Environmental Policy to our staff and make it publicly available; and
10 develop employee enthusiasm and competency to achieve our objectives and targets.
We will review our performance annually and set targets to continually improve.

Health and Safety Policy
Occupational Health and Safety Policy Statement
I.D.M. Contractors Ltd aims to ensure, so far as is reasonably practicable, the health, safety and welfare of our employees while they are at work and of others who may be affected by our undertakings. This general policy statement provides a commitment and intent to comply with the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and related legislation.
To ensure the principles of health and safety are clearly understood throughout the Company, we will be committed to:
- complying with relevant health and safety laws and regulations, voluntary programmes, collective agreements on health and safety and other requirements to which the Company subscribes;
- setting and monitoring of health and safety objectives for the Company;
- effective communication of and consultation on health and safety matters throughout the Company;
- assessing the risks to the safety and health of our employees and others who may be affected by our activities and implementing controls to minimise those risks;
- preventing work-related injuries, ill health, disease and incidents;

PAS 2030 COMPLIANT
Following IDM's Certification in Spring 2013 we are well placed to venture into Green Deal and ECO Funded energy efficiency upgrades.
Our PAS 2030 Certification qualifies us to carry out condensing boiler and heating controls upgrades.
Although this fledgling market may fluctuate over the first couple of years, IDM is planning for a longer term growth in offering energy efficient services in the private and public sector.

CHRISTMAS HEATING SECURED FOR LEEDS FED RESIDENTS
IDM Contractors Limited was delighted to step in a short notice to help Leeds Federated Housing Association secure emergency heating services for its 4000 residents just prior to Christmas 2012, following a significant shortfall in performance by its existing service provider.
Since the 19th December, when first alerted by Leeds Federated, we attended over 100 emergencies during the Christmas Period, promptly restoring heating and hot water for people at an important time of the year.
Stephen Ellis, Leeds Fed Director of Asset Management, expressed his thanks to IDM for its support at such short notice.
We are equally thankful to Leeds Fed that they were confident to place trust in IDM to deliver for their residents in an unusual and unfortunate situation.

IDM NEW OFFICES UPDATE
Following succesful planning approval to build our new offices and storage in Wyke, Bradford, we are currently consulting with Bradford City Council over the highways and drainage designs as part of the overall development. Once this has been finalised, we will commence groundwork operations with a view to completing the building in 2013.
The new offices will be energy self sufficient, bringing new employment to the locality. Our partnerships with universities, colleges, manufacturers and housing groups serve to promote energy efficient working, illustrating why and how carbon reduction is better for our environment.
We will update you on progress in due course and invite interested parties to see the construction phases once commenced.

NEW LOCAL JOBS CREATED
Following the successful award of the Kirklees Council Contract in April, IDM is pleased to announce the creation of new employment posts within its organisation.
The site based posts cover gas engineer, plumbing and carpentry trades. We have also taken on a young unemployed apprentice from Batley, West Yorkshire to work on the Kirklees scheme as part of our work experience programme.
Part of IDM's procurement bid included a commitment to cretae jobs, so we are delighted to fulfill that promise.
This is good news for IDM, Kirklees Council and the local community, proving that partnership working with small to medium size enterprises brings real benefits in these difficult economic times.

REWARD THROUGH UNITY
IDM is delighted to announce that it has been awarded a long term contract with Unity Housing Association to provide gas maintenance and installation services to its customer tenants in Leeds.
A seven year partneriship, IDM will be working with Unity to deliver gas heating maintenance to over 1000 homes. The contract includes for commercial gas maintenance and we will help Unity upgrade their existing office heating facilities to make them more energy efficient.
Unity Housing, based in Chapeltown Leeds, is a valued client in the city of Leeds, offering housing and associated support services to people in the locality.
Our mission is to provide affordable warmth through programmes of highly skilled maintenance, new boiler installations and energy upgrades.

AWARD OF KIRKLEES CONTRACT
We are delighted to announce that we have been awarded the contract to install energy efficient heating systems as part of the Kirklees Council CESP funded carbon reduction strategy in the Kirklees district.
Over the next three years IDM will be the preferred contractor to provide new boilers, full heating systems and heating control replacements across the region for homes that qualify under the Community Energy Saving Programme.
This scheme follows on from our succesful completion of a similar programme for Barnsley Council and we are very much looking forward to working with Kirklees Council in improving energy efficiency in homes within the district.

LEEDS AND YORKSHIRE PARTNERS AGAIN
We are delighted to announce that we have been awarded Leeds and Yorkshire Housing Associations Gas Maintenance Contract. Our partnership with Leeds and Yorkshire began in 1999 and we are pleased that our joint approach to managing gas services and heating has continued to satisfy Leeds and Yorkshire tenants, sufficient for them to entrust us to continue for up to another five years.

New Clients Joy
New client Barnsley City Council is extremely pleased with work recently carried out by IDM for residents in the borough of Barnsley. Tim Weeks, project Manager, noted that customer and client satisfaction is amoung the highest ever achieved for the Council.
Fifty homes were selected for energy and heating upgrades, as part of the Councils affordable warmth programme. Residents received highly efficient boilers and heating upgrades, plus an Energy Usage Monitor which helps control fuel bills by informing how best to use energy.

SUPPORTING LOCAL SKILLS
As part of its continued local partnership with Construction Yorkshire, IDM has employed Thomas Taylor, from Leeds, on a work experience programme and we are hopeful that Thomas can develop a long term career in plumbing and gas heating through our skills programme.
Thomas was an unemployed plumbing apprentice when he joined us and is now using his skills as part of the IDM installation team, installing boilers and heating upgrades throughout the Leeds area.
Thomas is the latest good news story, following on from Sean Rowell-Burton, who successfully completed his work experience programme earlier this year and is now in full time employment with IDM. Sean came through the Construction Yorkshire - IDM partnership as well.

Wired Up - NAPIT Approved
IDM is pleased to announce it has been accepted onto the NAPIT Electrical register, qualified now to carry out Minor Works Electrical Installations and issue 17th Edition Certification, in line with current legislation.
This accreditation was achieved through our in house development programme, re-investing in existing staff to develop their careers.
We are confident that this and future planned achievements will lead to further opportunities in the market place as we continue to grow and diversify.

IDM's achievement
Its always a nice to see a business expand their service from West Yorkshire to South Yorkshire. Idm has been recently awarded a contract to work close with Barnsley council, their job is to give the best possible services to their new customers. The contract includes working with 50 properties in Barnsley and this properties have faults with their heating or boiling service. Idm are to replace all the old and defected boilers and radiators with new upgrade that reduce carbon emmisions. Idm is looking to satify their customers with over warming heating service.

I am a TONG HIGH SHCOOL STUDENT and studying business. My name is Joe Masakwa and I am working with IDM as an apprentice. I am a basketballer but my dream job is to be a Sport Agent. For me to be a sport agent I need to know everything about law in sport and business. I also need to know how to run a business and how to keep my clients satisfied. I believe IDM can give me a good understanding of Business.

Tenants gain from Thinking Cap Sessions
As Approved Service Provider to Worcester Bosch Boilers in Yorkshire, IDM is now implementing this seemless service for its clients, which greatly benefit's response speed and removal of unnecessary adminstration waste.
During the warrantee period following boiler installation, IDM now attend's direct to breakdown's in lieu of a third party contractor. Tenants win because they deal with the same contractor in a much faster response time. Our client's win because there is no paperwork and their customers are more satisfied.
We are pleased that this continuing partnership growth with Worcester Bosch will benefit our client's and tenants in their businesses and homes.

Tongues in Trees

Following succesful discussion with Bradford City Council, we are pleased to announce that the long standing disagreement over a tree preservation order (TPO) placed on the land of IDM's proposed new offices has been resolved. The TPO is to be rescinded as part of a planning application that will replace these trees with natural species hedging and trees that accommodate our new development.
We will keep clients and interested parties informed of progress of our exciting new development, due for completion in 2011.

Driving Skills
IDM is pleased to welcome three new members as part of our work placement programme.
Laurissa Booth, Alistair Tate and Danny Ward joined us recently through our regeneration partnership schemes to support local people to gain work experience.
Laurissa Booth comes through the Bradford Education initiative and will be working within our administration team to gain experience in customer call handling, supporting site operations and general office administration.
Based in Cleckheaton, West Yorkshire, The Brookhouse Training Centre trains gas engineers to ACS accreditation. Alistair Tate is completing his work placement phase with us which enables him to complete step two of the structured programme before progressing to the final phase of the course.
Working with Connect Housing Association and Construction Leeds, we also welcome Danny Ward who will spend time with us gaining work experience in gas engineering and associated work. Construction Leeds is a business focused, strategic partnership engaging the whole supply chain on major construction developments within the city and has linked up with Connect Housing as part of a wider regeneration strategy.

Spring Growth
IDM has increased its office space within Royds Enterprise Park to meet its business growth. This is an interim measure to cover the next twelve months during which IDM's new office complex in Wyke, Bradford, will be built. Customers visiting IDM will be invited to the Main Building reception, while supplies and site operational organisation will continue from the existing unit.

Partnership creates Employment
New apprenticeships are being created by the Accent Employers Forum, leading to IDM's new heating engineering apprenticeship this January. We hope to create further oppoprtunities through expected growth over the next couple of years and will be working closely with the Group to continue this positive appraoch to regeneration in the region. The Forum brings together employers, contractors, colleges and other professions to explore job opportunities, using Government incentives to support initial funding.

New Accent
IDM has teamed up with the Accent Employers Forum to act in partnership to stimulate growth in employment in the Bradford region.
Accent provides over 19,000 affordable homes across the UK and works with local communities to regenerate areas physically, economically and socially. The Forum brings together building contractors, housing providers, schools, colleges and other employers to work together in the regeneration process.
We attended our first meeting on the 17th December and among key issues is a drive to create opportunities for apprenticeships locally.

Warm floor for cold winter
IDM has just completed the installation of a new underfloor heating system as part of a major refurbishment for one of it's key clients, Connect Housing Association in Leeds. The refurbished property is a disabilities scheme in Cleckheaton, Kirklees and incorporates excellent design for its new tenants and carers. The underfloor heating is an Uponor integrated system embedded in a lightweight screed, finished with Canadian timber flooring. The system is zoned throughout to provide the tenants with greater control over their heating comfort.

Diversifying with our partner clients
As part of our continued successful partnership with Leeds and Yorkshire Housing Association, we were recently awarded our clients bathroom refurbishment contract in Leeds, approximately one hundred bathrooms in tenant occupied dwellings. The work involved replacing bathroom suites, upgrading insulation and improving water services. The project was completed in the Autumn 2009.
